How it Works

Colorado REAL by InSite Wellness is a year-round food share program composed of locally grown and/or locally processed food products delivered to a convenient drop-site twice per month. Expanding on the concept of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) we are utilizing small Colorado businesses, providing healthy connections between the people who eat food and the people who produce food here in Colorado. A basic food share includes 10-15 different food products that are non-perishable and low-perishable (fruits, vegetables, herbs, greens, honey, bread, grains, etc). We accompany our delivery with access to information online about less common produce, recipe suggestions, and vendor information from a Master Nutrition Therapist. Colorado REAL is Real Food for Real People, with Real Convenience. You and your family can benefit from the farm-to-table experience, but we do all the work.

We screen and establish relationships with folks who practice natural and sustainable farming, ranching, and food production practices in an effort to provide a farm-to-table service to our customers with exceptional quality. With a balanced and diverse team of these small business owners, we provide the best food. In the spirit of reducing our carbon footprint on the Earth, we have arranged convenient delivery sites to serve our customers. This may be at your place of employment, a business you commonly patronize, or a large residence complex. Someone at this delivery site is designated to manage distribution of the food shares. We have also expanded our website to conveniently facilitate communication with minimum use of paper products.

Participants of Colorado REAL also have the option of taking advantage of our vendor showcase Ad-On packages. Monthly Ad-On orders are optional products that may contain perishable, non-perishable, and low perishable products (eggs, fresh cheese, natural chicken, wild-caught salmon, 100% grass-fed lamb, and baked goods) that participants can purchase in flexible quantities each month in a single delivery with no obligation for subsequent Ad-On purchases. There is no minimum purchase required from the Ad-On products. Due to the increased need for refrigeration, delivery of our monthly Ad-On package requires additional preparation and coordination, which is established on a customer-by-customer basis and delivered consistent with the second delivery of each month.

New sign-ups for Colorado REAL are accepted at any time, but billing occurs on a quarterly or monthly basis. Our fiscal cycle starts in May, so the quarters occur May – July, August – October, November – January, and February – April. These are most representative of the seasons related to harvest and whole food availability. New sign-ups for both payment options will receive their first delivery at the start of the new month. Once you have signed up, you will start receiving your food shares twice per month on a regular schedule (ie, first and third Wednesday of the month, etc.). Deliveries are made to a single drop site at your place of employment, business, or residence complex. It is your responsibility to pick up your share from this site unless otherwise arranged by management at your delivery site.

One-Time Opt Out per Quarter

Colorado REAL by Insite Wellness wants to provide a convenient product with flexibility. You may ‘opt out’ of one delivery during any given quarter without charge. This will be handled as a credit back to you minus a $3.00 service fee. You may also choose to have your missed share donated to a non-profit organization. What does a share look like?

Your share delivery contains 10-15 food products that reflect food availability at that time in the harvest season. Some of the items in your share will be fresh produce; other items may include products such as whole grain bread, natural honey, and/or whole grains to reflect seasonal availability.

Your share is delivered in a re-usable grocery bag. You bring us your empty bag and we will hand you a full bag at each delivery. It is simple. It is smart. It is responsibly green!

Website Interface

The Colorado REAL food share includes access to all of the information available on InSite Wellness’ website plus a proprietary space just for members. Here we post a monthly newsletter outlining the contents of your delivery, recipes related to items in your grocery bag, stories about the people who grow the food you are receiving, and an tip or two relating to holistic nutrition. For your convenience, we have also included a place for customer service online that you can use in addition to calling our office. It really is that easy!
